Question
How can i get the most out of my plasma and home theater?
i recently purchased a panasonic THPDU plasma and panasonic SCH . home theater system and want to know how i can get the best out of both of these products with settings, cables etc... any input would be most welcomed.
Answer
Youre good to go with the HDMI cables for your TV and DVD. A few other things to keep in mind......your Plasma HDTV is not HD unless you have the proper signal.....if you dont already have an HDTV cable box from your cable provider, upgrade to one. Im assuming that since youre using an HDMI cable, you have the proper HD cable box already brbrAlso, make sure your DVD system is set to play DVDs on quotProgressive Scanquot mode. The normal default for DVD players has progressive scan turned off, because a standard TV cant handle the picture, but your new Plasma can, so read your manaual and make sure you turn on Progressive Scan. The DVD picture on your TV will improve.brbrAlso, Plasma TVs can suffer quotBurn Inquot to the screen pretty easily......this is where a picture is up on the screen for a while, and quotburnsquot a ghostlike image into the screen.....so make sure that you do not leave the same picture up on your TV for a long time. For example, the main menu of a DVD. I also would not recommend gaming systems on a plasma TV for the same reason.
